One of the World's Greenest Cities

The LNHS study area consists of a circle of radius 20 miles (32km) from St Pauls Cathedral.

This encompasses the whole of the Greater London (GLA) adminstrative area, and parts of the surrounding counties, extending well beyond the M25 in many places.

Habitats available for study range from inner city streets and brownfield sites to farmland, lowland heath, chalk downland and the wetlands of the Lea Valley and Thames estuary.

We are fortunate that such a variety of habitat types are represented in our area.
